LIFE ON THE SITE
Accommodation
VOLON.T.E provides accommodation in the village and in the same house . Voluntary expatriates live together with the Togolese volunteers in a community environment . The dormitories are common. French or English are the languages used in our operations. Volunteers to their provisions , a traditional shower and toilet , electric current or kerosene lamps in different localities and cooking charcoal .
Housework or chores
On the site, all the chores (cooking , dishes , water, household) are made by the volunteers themselves . Groups are formed for this purpose and it is rotatably .
the Restoration
Volunteers are entitled to three meals a day ; ( breakfast, lunch and dinner). The meals are composed of African menus and some European time. Volunteers are responsible themselves in the kitchen.
Work
Under the guidance of a facilitator work takes place from Monday to Friday five (5) working days per week except weekends . The work lasts three (3) weeks . He is responsible for managing the various missions. It is not a dictator but coordinates the activities on site. Informs the office on the evolution of missions and claims volunteers.
Activities cover only the morning from 7 am 30-11 am 30 five (5 ) hours per day , volunteers are free to go to the occupations of their choice afternoon . However, some tasks can be scheduled in the afternoon if the group leader deems necessary.
Leisure and Animation
Every evening animation is provided, this is the place for the expatriate to soak up the African culture through stories, songs, dances , debates, and free quarters , games . All activities evenings are to be decided by volunteers.
VOLON.TE organizes cultural activities and meetings between volunteers and the local population. they can organize other leisure activities outside that provided by VOLON.T.E
African Day
It is organized by the African volunteers. It is a day purely sprinkled with African cultural events. It is spent at the village square where children, volunteers: local as expatriates makeup, play and dance to the sounds of drums, and present sketches to the villagers in an euphoric mood .The day continues until late in night with the old men and women of the village that tell us old stories they still have in their wallets the around fire.
European day.
The other is organized by our brothers and sisters expatriates. It is a day where they show us their cultural talents through musical sounds and dances. This is a really exciting day.
These two days are really very popular days on both sides. They mark everyone’s life on the site.
Excursion
TOGO, is one of the Most Beautiful African countries . It is full of many attractions . Tours are offered to volunteers on site but are not supported by the association. Only weekends are reserved for group outings or excursions .
NB : Volunteers eager to learn more about the Togo can stay after work camps to do some sightseeing. In this case provide for days accordingly.
