WHAT IS A CAMP SITE AT VOLON.T.E'S?

                                                  What is a camp site in VOLON.T.E ?

It’s a group of youth and adults as volunteers from different countries working together to achieve a humanitarian mission or project and for a period of three ( 03 ) to six ( 06) weeks. This experience of living and working collectively creates an awareness of different people , contact with the local population and a sense of genuine solidarity .

Throughout the year from January to December , VOLON.T.E organizes different types of international projects in several areas. So we give to volunteers who wish to participate in our work camps the possibility choose between :
                                               The first type of site
  This is a programmed site where  VOLON.T.E precises dates of each project, the period and the type of project . These planned projects are usually short-term (2, 3 to 4 weeks)
                                                2nd type of project
This is a free site where the volunteer  specifies on the basis of his availability: his arrival and departure date and we may also propose a project or mission according to their skills . This site is mostly medium and long term and is organized for a group of volunteers. He can also propose a mission
If you want to go in a group, for example with  students in a school , nursing students, scouts, a group of students , employees, members of an association ... VOLON.T.E may offer humanitarian missions. You choose the time , the type of project or mission.

 Note: The safety of our volunteers is always our primary concern. All volunteers were informed upon arrival precautions .


                                                  Types of projects
                                                  1- School Support
This is an educational site that is organized for children and young people in primary schools and secondary schools. It is to deliver courses in reading, writing , grammar, conjugation ; computing, French , English, Physical Science , Mathematics , in accordance with current curriculum and activities to help children as the distribution of school supplies ( notebooks, pens , slate,  pencils… ) . The Classes are taught in the mornings of working days (Monday - Friday). The animation with children is organized in theafternoons . This is a site which usually lasts three weeks and takes place in August. The one third of the participation fee and the contribution of VOLON.T.E are used to purchase school supplies for children.
Note: However, if some volunteers have some school items  to provide children  they are welcome . .


                                     2 –Sensitization/Awareness on STI / HIV - AIDS and Malaria
This is a project that is to educate the rural population on these diseases. It is door to door , and mass distribution of condoms , mosquito nets and medicines , documents containing information on these diseases. Our goal for this project is to raise awareness among rural populations mainly responsible behavior to adopt vis-à -vis these diseases and at the same time raise awareness about the basic rules of hygiene practices in general to reduce the rate mortality and morbidity associated with these evils in our societies. This is a site which usually lasts three weeks and takes place in July , August and September.
Note: Volunteers can bring work items in case they have .

                                     3 -Animation with children and family integration
It is a mission to have fun with the children through fun activities, dances ....followed by the distribution of gifts ( food, toys, biscuits .... ) disguised by volunteers Santa Claus . And experience the realities of rural and peasant families . That's life in the African rhythm. This is a work which usually lasts 3 to 4 weeks and takes place in December. 1/3 participation fee and the contribution VOLON.T.E used to purchase gifts for the children.
NB . However if volunteers have some gifts to give to children they are welcome .

                                     Site of introduction to the art

This is a work in which we provide theoretical and practical especially for children over a village or in an orphanage . We urge shoemakers ; knitters , batik artists and manufacturers of necklaces and bracelets; All specialists in their domain to give these lessons to children . They also learn other manual labor. This project lasts four weeks .

                                     Theatrical construction.

This is a work in which we make preparation and presentation of  pieces of theaters and sketches with children .They perform these pieces at the village square or in school before their parents. This site lasts between three and four weeks.

                                        School support site  at orphanage.

This is a work of  tutoring that only takes place in orphanages with the intention of  telling the orphans that even if there is no mom and dad to hire teachers for them ; we siblings are present to give the theirs extra-class lessons . It also lasts  03 and 04 weeks.

VOLON.T.E provides :
The reception facilities’ fees and  transportation from the airport to accommodation , transportation fromLomé to the project site (in and out ), accommodation and food during the stay, the purchase of raw materials for the realization of projects , cultural events , reception and administrative support structure .... thanks to the volunteer’s participation fees
